The University offers a Spring Wind Ensemble to all A&T Students who wish to audition for the ensemble. The band consists of approximately 70-80 musicians. The ensemble provides challenging band literature geared to entertain and appeal to diverse audiences. The class is designed to assist each musican with detailed musical and technical development, while emphasizing performance techniques to enhance the overall development of the band student and band program.
The 2010 concert was held April 20th in Harrison Auditorium on our campus. Ensemble members and directors presented several selections. The concert also include visual presentations to accompany the music. The ensemble was pleased to host Mr. Roosevelt Pratt and the EE Smith High School Concert Band from Fayetteville, NC.
The Wind Ensemble is under the direction of Dr. Kenneth Ruff and Mr. Brian Millsapp. Marching bands members are required to participate in this spring ensemble as a method to enhance playing ability and remain proficient on their respective instruments.
